Standard Electric Fence for Dogs
The original electric fence for dogs is the same fencing that was used in farms and ranches for fencing in cattle and keeping out other animals and predators. Some farmers found that if they had a large guard dog for helping with sheep or goats there would be times they needed to keep the dog in a controlled area and they could just run an extra section and they had electric fence for dogs. There are some advantages to using standard electric fence for dogs. First it is fairly easy to install and set up. It is a great deterrent to your dogs leaving your property as well as keeping stray dogs from coming onto your property and bothering your dogs. It can also be place in such a way to stop a dog from even trying to dig under standard fencing. There are some downsides to standard electric fence for dogs. Very small animals including small dogs can be injured or suffer electrocution from the current especially if it is not set appropriately, but it can also damage animals due to weather or objects that lay across the fence.
Invisible Electric Fence for Dogs
As a dog owner I am convinced that invisible electric fence for dogs is much better than standard electric fence. I dislike the inhumane nature of the fence and the shock that it gives to the animal which can cause serious fear. The invisible electric fence for dogs can be buried out of sight and in a matter of a few days your dogs can be trained to stay with in the boundaries and won’t chase a person or ball across the boundary even if they are not wearing the training collar. If you need to keep dogs out of your yard because you have a breeding bitch who will be in heat several times a year, you can install chain link fence as well as the invisible fence to insure that your dogs are kept in as well as keeping male dogs away from your female.
